Sernick Backgrounding Complete Feed is used to grow out lighter weaner calves and to prepare them for the feedlot phase. The protein levels are formulated to ensure good growth. The feed can be used on grazing or in pens.

Gradually adapt animals by offering 2 kg of feed on day 1 and increasing it by 0.5 kg per animal until they are eating ad lib. Always ensure hay or grazing is available. If using a complete feeding system, hay may be withdrawn after the adaptation period. Make sure the animals always have access to sufficient clean drinking water.
