Zoetis Dectomax

A long-acting injectable parasiticide for cattle, sheep, goats and pigs that treats roundworms and a range of external parasites. Dectomax contains doramectin, a macrocyclic lactone, as a 1% solution.

• Active ingredient: Doramectin 1% m/v
• Dosage form: Injectable solution
• Indications in cattle: Gastrointestinal roundworms, suckling lice, mange mites, Parafilaria (false bruising), screwworms and single-host ticks
• Indications in sheep and goats: Gastrointestinal roundworms, sheep scab and itch mites, nasal bot larvae, and aids in the control of blowfly strike
• Indications in pigs: Roundworms and lungworms, and kills sarcoptic mange mites and lice
• Dosage for cattle: 1 ml per 50 kg body mass, injected into the muscle or under the skin
• Dosage for sheep: The cattle dosage can be increased to 1.5 ml per 50 kg body mass in sheep only
• Dosage for pigs: 1 ml per 33 kg body mass, injected into the muscle
• Withdrawal period: 35 days for cattle, sheep and goats and 28 days for pigs between the last treatment and slaughter for human consumption
• Milk: Not to be used in animals that produce milk for human consumption
• Pulpy kidney: Sheep and goats should be vaccinated against pulpy kidney before treatment
• Clostridial diseases: Vaccination of cattle, sheep and goats against broad-spectrum clostridial infections is strongly recommended
